Toy Advent Calendars 2026: NeeDoh, Squishy and Mystery Dumpling Compared
Share
A toy advent calendar gives children something small to open every morning from 1 December. At J&W on the Newtownards Road in East Belfast we have three toy advent calendars this year, each £12, or 2 for £20 when you mix and match any two. The 2 for £20 price is applied automatically in your basket until 30 November 2026. Here is how they compare.
The three calendars at a glance
| Calendar | Doors | Theme | Age marking | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NeeDoh Advent Calendar | 24 numbered doors | NeeDoh surprises | Not for children under 3 (small parts) | £12 |
| Squishy Toy Advent Calendar | Numbered doors | Dumplings, bakery treats, ice creams and lollies | Ages 3 and over | £12 |
| Mystery Dumpling Advent Calendar | 24 numbered doors, 24 surprises | Festive dumpling characters | Ages 3 and over | £12 |
NeeDoh Advent Calendar
The NeeDoh Advent Calendar has a numbered door for every day from 1 to 24, each with a surprise behind it, as shown on the box. It is the obvious choice for a NeeDoh fan. The contents are a surprise, so specific items cannot be chosen. The box carries a choking hazard warning: it contains small parts and is not for children under 3.
Squishy Toy Advent Calendar
The Squishy Toy Advent Calendar box is covered in smiling dumplings, bakery treats, ice creams and ice lollies, with a numbered door to open each day in the run-up to Christmas. It suits children who love squishy toys of all kinds rather than one brand. It is marked for ages 3 and over.
Mystery Dumpling Advent Calendar
The Mystery Dumpling Advent Calendar is a blind box calendar with 24 numbered doors and 24 Christmas surprises, as printed on the box, featuring dumpling characters in Santa hats, scarves and reindeer antlers. We do not open or select the surprises, so items cannot be chosen or swapped. It is marked for ages 3 and over.
Which one should I choose?
- For a NeeDoh fan: the NeeDoh Advent Calendar.
- For a child who loves all things squishy: the Squishy Toy Advent Calendar.
- For a collector who loves blind boxes: the Mystery Dumpling Advent Calendar.
- For two children, or a calendar each for home and a grandparent's house: any two for £20 until 30 November.
